Add Application

The ADD APPLICATION screen allows you to add the details of the application that needs to be mapped to one (or more) target systems, defined in the DSAR. There is one to one mapping i.e., a system mapped to an application cannot be mapped with any other application.

To access ADD APPLICATION screen, log into the PK Protect application.

Click RETENTION > APPLICATIONS > ADD APPLICATION button. The ADD APPLICATION screen will appear.

To add an application, follow the below steps:

  1. Enter the name of the application in the Application Name textbox.

  2. Enter the descriptive information for the application in Description field.

  3. Enter the main purpose of the application in the Purpose textbox.

  4. Select the time-period from the Retention Period Type drop-down. There are three options:

    1. Day(s) – If you select Day(s) as the option then, it will allow you to enter the retention period value between the 1 to 99.

    2. Month(s) – if you select Month(s) as the option, then it will allow you to enter the retention period value between 1 to 99.

    3. Year(s) – If you select this option, then it will allow you to enter the retention period value between 1 to 10.

  5. Enter the numeric value in the Retention Period.

    1. Enter the range between 1 to 99, if option Day(s) or Month(s) is chosen in Retention Period Type.

    2. Enter the range between 1 to 10, if Year(s) is chosen as an option in Retention Period Type.

  6. Select either Application or Business in the Process Type field depending upon what level are you operating at.

  7. Select the system name to be associated with the application from the System Name panel below. This panel lists down all the target systems that have been created. You can also search the target system by entering its name in the Search textbox.

    To select a system, check the checkbox available with the system name.

  8. Click the SAVE button to make the changes effective, else click CANCEL.

    On clicking the SAVE button, the application will start reflecting on the APPLICATIONS tab.  This tab will display the basic details for the application such as name of the application, its purpose, type of process, retention period, description.

    You can edit the details of the application by clicking the Pen icon in the Actions column. The delete button will be enabled when you check the checkbox available with the application name that you want to delete.
