Add New Masking Policy

PK Protect provides the ability to add a new masking policy. To add a new masking policy detail, click Add New Masking Policy tab on the Masking Policy screen.


The Add New Masking Policy screen will appear. Follow the below steps to configure Add New Masking Policy:

*Note: To activate a masking policy, the masking policy must be added to a policy group.

  1. Name: Enter a unique name to the masking policy. This is a mandatory field.

  2. Description: Enter a brief description of the masking policy.

  3. Database: Select the database from the Database drop-down on which you want to apply dynamic masking.

  4. Status: This field provides two options based on which the user can set the status of the masking policy.

    1. Active: Select the Active option, if you want to set the status of the masking policy as active.

    2. Inactive: Select the Inactive option, if you want to set the status of the masking policy as inactive.

  5. Row Limit: Enter a row limit for the records that you want to fetch from the table.

  6. Schema: Enter a unique schema of the database. This is a mandatory field.

  7. Table:  Enter a unique table name. This is a mandatory field.

  8. Column: Enter a unique column name. This is a mandatory field.

  9. Method: Select the masking Method using which you want to perform dynamic masking. The masking methods will vary for every database.

  10. Click Save to save the changes, else click Cancel.
