Add New Policy Groups

PK Protect provides the ability to add a new policy group. To add policy group details, click Add New Policy Group tab on the Policy Groups screen.

The Add New Policy Group screen will appear. Follow the below steps to configure Add New Policy Group:

  1. Policy Group Name: Enter a unique name to the policy group. This is a mandatory field.

  2. Description: Enter a brief description to the policy group.

  3. Operation Mode: The Operation Mode drop-down has two values. This is a mandatory field.

    1. Operation: Policy groups that are available when devices are in operation mode.

    2. Maintenance: Policy groups that are available when devices are in maintenance mode.

  4. Action: Select the value GENERATE_ERROR from the Action drop-down. This is a mandatory field.

  5. In the POLICY KEYS panel, check the checkbox(es) for the policy key(s) that you want to associate with the policy group.

  6. In the MASKING POLICIES panel, check the checkbox(es) for the masking policies that you want to associate with the policy group.

  7. Click Save to save the changes, else click Cancel.

*Note: If there are black and white keys defined in the same policy group, then black keys have higher priority i.e., the system first restricts the black key commands, then allows the white key commands.
