Appendix H: Configure Multiple SQL Server Instances in PK Protect

PK Protect supports detection on multiple SQL Server instances. To connect with multiple instances, the Detection IDP must have access to the SQL Server to get a list of all the available instances. This provides an interface to create connection with multiple instances in a single go. This is an alternative option for creating connection to each SQL Server instance one by one.

  1. To connect with multiple instances, ‘sqlcmd’ utility must be installed on the system where DBMS Detection IDP is installed. To install this utility package, click the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53591

  2. Execute the ‘sqlcmd-L’ command to get the list of available instances. This command can be executed on SQL Server machine containing MS Tools. To install MS Tools, click on the following link: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-setup-tools
