Create a Source Output Directory

Following section outlines the process to create and edit a Source Output Directory in Hadoop, Files, AWS, and Azure.

Hadoop

To add a Source Output Directory for a task, click Hadoop > Output Directory. This will display the Output Directory List screen.

Select the cluster from the Select Cluster drop-down. This specifies the node for which output directory needs to be defined. An IDP status is also displayed (Active or Inactive) for the selected cluster.

  1. Click the Add Source Output Directory tab in the Output Directory List screen. The following screenshot shows the user interface for adding an output directory.

To add an output directory, perform the below steps:

    1. The Source Directory field specifies the location of the target file or object that needs to be masked, encrypted, or decrypted. To select a Source Directory, click the Browse button. This displays the Hadoop File Browser which list down all the available directories and files stored on the selected cluster.

      1. To select a directory, click the name of the directory in the left pane. This displays the list of all the child directories and the files stored in the selected directory.

You can also view the child directory by clicking the Right Arrow button available with the directory name. This displays the list of all child directories for the selected parent directory, if exists.

      2. Click the Select button to make the changes effective else click the Cancel button.

    2. Selecting a source directory will automatically create a Branch Point for the selected Source Directory. The Branch Point field preserves the source directory structure as well as re-create the Destination Directory from the branch point.

*Note: The Branch Point must be same as the Source Directory or a parent of the Source Directory. It cannot be a subdirectory of the Source Directory, and it cannot be a path completely outside the Source Directory hierarchy.

    3. Selecting a source directory will automatically create a Destination Directory for the selected Source Directory. The Destination Directory field specifies the location of the target files or objects once encryption or decryption process is completed.

*Note: The Destination Directory cannot be a subdirectory of the Source Directory.

    4. Click Save button to make the changes effective else click Cancel button.
