Daily Scanning Report

This report provides the detailed summary of all the data scanned for a specific time range, date-wise. By default, the report displays the data for the current date.

You can apply filter by clicking the icon on top the left corner of the report. On clicking, it will display two dimensions based on which the data in the report can be filtered.

  • Date – To view the data for specific time frame, enter the year, month and date in From_YYYYMMDD and To_YYYYMMDD textbox.


    You need to enter the data in the format <Year><Month><date>. For instance, if you want to view data in the report from January 01, 2000 to February 29, 2020, then it will be written as 20000101 in From_YYYYMM field and 20200229 in To_YYYYMM field.

  • Source Name – This filter lets you opt for all source systems or specific source systems, as per requirement.

  1. Top section displays the information in the form of bar charts which displays the size of data scanned in the different tables.


    E.g., with reference to the above screenshot, the first row displays the total 146.83 MB of data, in eight tables, that was scanned in MySQL-192.168.0.47 source.

    Hovering over any bar, displays the data label that will provide the details for the scanned data. The detail includes the name of the source system, scanned size in bytes and total calculated data with the scanned number of tables.


    To sort the data in ascending or descending order in Source Name column, click Sort icon next to the Source Name column. If you want to sort the data in ascending order i.e. A-Z, then the symbol on the icon will be displayed as A-Z with downward arrow . If you want to sort the data in descending order i.e., Z-A, then the symbol on the icon changes to Z-A with downward arrow.


    Similarly, to sort the bar charts based on the scanned size, click Sort icon.

  2. The bottom section displays the data in the tabular form. This section gives more detailed information for the scanned data by providing the total size and count of the tables in which the data was exposed, protected and safe.


    This section of the report segregates the scanned data date-wise. The Server Type column will have two values, i.e. On-Premises and Cloud based on which the Source Name can be distinguished. The data size in Scanned Size column is the total of data scanned in a schema and the total number of tables scanned within schema is given in brackets.

    The data in the Scanned Size (Table) column is the total of Exposed Size (Table), Protected Size (Table), and Safe Size (Table).

    Scanned Size (T) = Exposed Size (T) + Protected Size (T) + Safe Size (T)

    Where T stands for the Table in the report.

    E.g., With reference to below screenshot, in the second row of the table for date 09 Jul 2018, the total of 449.01 KB (i.e., 46 tables scanned) of data was scanned in TCBTest10 schema of SQLServer-192.168.6.149 which hosted on On-Premises.


    To sort the data within the table in ascending or descending order, click the Sort icon before the column header names.


    To view the data at just date level, click the Minus icon next to the Scan Date column. This rolls-up the data at date level and hide the details of the Server Type, Source, Schema Name columns.

    Similarly, you can view the data at Server, Source and Schema level.
