DB2 Mainframe - Masking Connection

Following are the options specific to DB2 Mainframe:

  • Connection Name: Enter a unique Connection Name. This fields accepts letters, numbers, and symbols.

  • Hostname: Enter the Hostname of the DB2 mainframe or select from the list of available IPs. You can also search for the hostnames and IP addresses of databases by Find DBMS/Tasks.

  • IP Address: Enter the IP Address for the connection.

  • Port Number: Enter the Port Number for establishing a connection. You can also edit the port number later, if required.

  • Database Name: Enter the name of the database.

  • Subsystem Name: Subsystem name is required to connect to DB2 mainframe. Enter the subsystem name.

  • WLM Name: Workload management (WLM) should be setup on target database before masking task starts. Enter the WLM name.

  • Collection ID: It is the name of the package collection to be used when the routines are executed. Enter the collection ID.

  • Username: Enter the database username.

  • Password: Enter the database password.

  • Use Connection String: A Connection String specifies the information about the data source and the means of connecting to it. Check the Use Connection String checkbox and provide the connection string. Use this option if you want to secure the connection using connection string instead of SSL.

  • Connection Attribute: Select the attribute name from the Connection Attribute drop-down. This functionality allows you to add tags to the created connection.

  • Target Databases Details: It allows you to add a database as the target database, to store the masked data. To add a database as Target Database, enter name of the database in the Target Database textbox. Click the Add button. The database will be added in the Target Database panel. Click Pen icon in the Actions column to edit the name of the database. Similarly, click Trash icon in the Actions column to delete the database.

*Note: More than one database can be added as the target database.
