HBase - Hadoop

To view all the existing tasks, go to Hadoop > HBase > Tasks in the navigation panel. Select the cluster from the Select Cluster drop-down. IDP Status can be seen on the top right corner of this tab: Active or Inactive.

The user interface of the HBase Task Definition screen is depicted below.

The screen is divided into two panels:

  1. Task List
    This panel displays the lists all the tasks for which you have permission to view. Selecting a task in this panel display additionally information in the Task Overview and Task Instances tab.

    There are few other common controls through which you can sort the values in the column header, filter the data, download the results in CSV or PDF format, etc. To know more, visit Common Controls.


    You can use the following controls displayed on the screen:

    1. Edit: Click Pen icon in the Actions column to edit a task. This option will navigate you to the Edit Task screen where you can update the information for the selected task.

    2. Execute: Click Forward icon in the Actions column to execute the task. This will trigger the task from the last updated definition.

    3. Show: Click the Show icon in the Actions column to unhide the selected task.

    4. Hide: Click the Hide icon in the Actions column to hide a task.

    5. Maximize: To maximize the panel, click the window icon on the top right corner of the panel. To minimize the panel back to its normal size, click the double window  icon on the top right corner of the panel. This option is available in both the panels.

    6. Minimize: Use this Window icon to minimize the panel. This option is available in both the panels.

  2. Overview

    1. Task Overview

      This bottom panel displays exhaustive information about the selected task and all the necessary information needed while reviewing a task instance. It shows information under the following tabs:

      1. Details
        This tab displays the summary of the task as per the selection made in the Task List panel.

      2. Policy Details

        This tab displays the list of policies and sensitive data types associated with the task selected in the Task List panel.

      3. Column Details

        This tab displays the detailed information about the column selected for scanning if Detection is opted in the Task Type field while creating a task.


        If Protection is selected in the Task Type field while creating a task, then this panel displays detailed information about the data to be masked in the selected column.

    2. Task Instances

      The Task Instances tab displays the list of all instances of the task that has been executed in a row. This displays additional information for each instance of the task such as it names, description, start and end times, statuses (Initializing, started, running, completed, completed with error(s) or canceled), etc.
