How to Create a Detection Connection in Azure

The Detection Connection allows user to perform discovery in the Azure databases. This process helps in establishing a connection between the controller and the data source. 

Pre-requisites

Following are the pre-requisites for creating a detection connection:

  1. Controller must be installed. For detailed information about the installation process, refer Install DSM Administrator in Linux and Install DSM Administrator in Windows.

  2. DgDiscover IDP must be Installed. It will enable the Detection feature in the product. To know more on to how install the IDP in Linux and Windows environment, refer Install DgDiscover IDP in Linux and Install DgDiscover IDP in Windows.

Steps to create Detection Connection

The following section of this page outlines the step-by-step of creating a detection connection in Azure.

  1. Login to the PK Protect application.

  2. Go to RBDMS > Connection Manager > Connection. Click Add New Connection button on top of the screen.

  3. The next step is to select the Location, Service and the Connection Details from given list. Now, fill in the details for the selected data source for which you need to create a connection. To know more about each field, refer Detection - Azure.

  4. Once connection is created, click Save button to save the details else click Cancel. Click Test button, to validate the connection.
