Import Users

You can import user information from a CSV file. The file should follow the format and content guidelines described below. Users uploaded from a CSV file are listed among the users in the user’s panel. It will not overwrite any existing user.

Guidelines

The CSV file must have a header line with field names that correspond to those in the User Management table. The fields must meet these criteria:

  1. User names are case-insensitive.

  2. If you do not enter the permissions, the default value for Role is DEFAULT_USER, and the default value for Active is No.

  3. Field order is not required, but the file must contain all the column headers described below.

Provide a valid user Id. The value in this column must match with the value in the directory service that PK Protect uses for authentication purposes.

Active

Either Yes or No.

If the field is left blank or contains an invalid value, the default value is No.

Role

No

The value must be a valid role. It can either be a PK Protect predefined role or a custom role that you have defined in roles and permissions management screen.

The predefined roles are:

  • SUPER_ADMIN

  • DEFAULT_USER 

  • CONNEC TION_ADMIN

  • TASK_DESIGNER

  • TASK_EXEC UTOR

  • ANALYST

If the field is left blank or contains an invalid value, the default user is DEFAULT_USER.

Import User using CSV File

Perform the following steps to import a user from a CSV file:

  1. Under the User Export/Import panel, enter the path to the CSV file, or click Browse to navigate to the file location.

  2. Click Import. Once the users have been uploaded, a confirmation message will appear.

  3. Click Ok.

  4. In the user’s panel at the top of the screen, click Refresh. The newly imported users will be displayed under that panel.
