Install Hive IDP

  1. Locate and copy the executable file DgSecureHiveIDP-<x.x.x.x>-linux-x64-installer.run to the machine on which you will install the IDP.

  2. Run DgSecureHiveIDP-<x.x.x.x>-linux-x64-installer.run.

  3. Accept the license agreement.

  4. Install the IDP in the default directory or enter a different location.

  5. Select the Distribution system, specify whether you want to enable or disable SSL, and enter the controller ID.

*Note: The information displayed in the above screenshot is same for all distribution options. Also, if you want to enable SSL, refer to Step 6 of Install HDFS IDP.

  1. Installation will begin.

Set the below mentioned properties after successful installation of the IDP.

  1. Open config.properties file located at ‘/opt/Dataguise/DgSecure/Agents/HiveAgent/conf’ and provide values for the below mentioned properties:

    1. dg.hiveagent.user: The user specified here will submit the hive job to the cluster when a Hive task is getting executed.

    2. dg.hiveagent.password: In case of MapR, provide an encrypted password for the Hive user.

    3. dg.kerberos.keytab.path: The absolute path to the Hive keytab file which is used for Kerberos authentication.

    4. hiveserver.jdbc.url: Specify the JDBC url to connect to hiveserver2 (service to connect with Hive database).

    5. dg.hiveagent.hdfs.dir: The absolute path to HDFS directory which is used as a data store by Hive agent.

    6. dg.ugi: Specify the HDFS principal name which is used for Kerberos Authentication. The default value is ‘hdfs’.

    7. dg.ugi.keytab: Specify the path to HDFS Keytab file.

  2. Stop the IDP by executing ‘./stop.sh’ command.

  3. Restart the IDP by executing ‘./start.sh’ command.
