Manage Clusters/Fileshare

PK Protect can connect to multiple clusters. Once connected, PK Protect can discover, mask, and encrypt sensitive data on the cluster.

The Clusters Management /Fileshare screen in allow the users to manage the IDPs and their relationship to the clusters. To do so, click the Manage Clusters/Fileshare option in the left side pane. You can add, edit, and delete clusters.

The Clusters Management /Fileshare screen is depicted below:

The top of the screen contains two panels. Once the user has added a cluster, the cluster name and ID appears in the left panel. The IDPs assigned to the cluster appear in the right panel when the cluster is selected. The bottom panel displays pertinent cluster details.

Add Cluster/Fileshare

Perform the following steps to add a cluster:

  1. Click Add Cluster/Fileshare.

  2. A dialog box will appear.

    *Note: These fields will vary every time you select a different type of cluster in the Cluster/Fileshare Type dropdown.


    The fields are described below:

    1. Cluster/Fileshare Name: Enter the name in the Cluster/Fileshare Name textbox.

    2. Cluster/Fileshare Type: Select the type of the cluster in the Cluster/Fileshare Type dropdown.

    3. Location: Select the cluster location as either On-Premises or Cloud.

    4. Files IDP: Select the files IDP.

    5. S3 Cloud IDP: Select the cloud IDP.

  3. Click Save

Edit Cluster/Fileshare

Perform the following steps to edit a cluster:

  1. Select the cluster you want to edit.

  2. Click Edit Cluster/Fileshare.

  3. A dialog box will appear.

    *Note: You are not allowed to edit the type and location of the cluster.

  4. Click Save after making the desired changes.

Delete Cluster/Fileshare

Perform the following steps to delete the cluster:

  1. Select the cluster you want to delete.

  2. Click Delete Cluster/Fileshare.

  3. A dialog box will appear.

  4. Click Yes.
