Oracle for Masking

To access data, create work tables, and perform masking, create a user account with the required database privileges. The work tables are stored in the default schema for this user.

To configure an Oracle instance for data masking:

  1. Login to the server hosting the database you want to mask in as sysdba.

  2. Navigate to the DgSecure scripts folder located on this path:
    /opt/Dataguise/DgSecure/IDPs/DgMaskerIDP/expandedArchive/WEB-INF/classes/com/dataguise/Worker/Masker/PrerequisiteFiles/Scripts/Oracle

  3. Execute the script create_user.sql. When you execute the script, it prompts you for a username and password for the account. Make a note of this login information—you will need it later when you create a connection to the server using the PK Protect Connection Manager.

For information about the Connection Manager, see the PK Protect User Guide or the online help.

To setup Stateless masking as a possible masking parameter:

  1. After creating a new dguser, run a basic masking task on the target database so that the DG and XDGM tables will be created in the database.

  2. Copy the JAR files from: /opt/Dataguise/DgSecure/IDPs/DgMaskerIDP/expandedArchive/WEB-INF/classes/com/dataguise/Worker/Masker/PrerequisiteFiles/Scripts/CommonFiles

    Copy SQL files from:
/opt/Dataguise/DgSecure/IDPs/DgMaskerIDP/expandedArchive/WEB-INF/classes/com/dataguise/Worker/Masker/PrerequisiteFiles/Scripts/Oracle to the Oracle database server.

  3. Install the fpe-oracle.jar file. After installation of the fpe-oracle jar file, execute “GrantsToAccessJavaFromRDBMS.sql” script file.

  4. Open “GrantsToAccessJavaFromRDBMS.sql” file. This file has 2 grant scripts that are needed to access java function from RDBMS. Please follow the steps written on top of this file to provide these grants. (Run this script file as system user).

  5. Place the fpe-oracle.jar file on the target server that will be masked. This will also be the server that we create a connection for in Connection Manager.
