Property Files

PK Protect for DBMS has three configurable properties:, the Discover IDP’s web service, and the Masker IDP’s web service.

File path: /opt/Dataguise/DgSecure/IDPs/DgDiscoverIDP/expandedArchive/WEB-INF/classes/com/dataguise/discoverIDP

Following are the properties that the user may need to configure:

  1. Set confidence setting according to your requirements.
    <ColumnNameMatches>15</ColumnNameMatches> // || By default confidence value is 15, it will display the results for which quick search flag status is 'Y' and confidence >15.
    <ColumnNameMismatches>20</ColumnNameMismatches> // || By default confidence value is 20, it will display the results for which quick search flag status is 'N' and confidence >20 </ShowConfidenceGreaterThan></ExpressionGroup>

  2. When a discovery task is run on multiple tables, DgDiscover automatically scans those multiple tables simultaneously. We can change this setting with the below mentioned property
    <ThreadCount>10</ThreadCount>   // || By default, DgDiscover started the scan on 10 files at the same time. The thread count can be changed as per requirement.

  3. If set to true, IDP will call Discovery Engine to do the discovery (New DME will work if this property set as True), otherwise it will continue to do discovery using the IDP's own mechanism.<activateDiscoveryEngineMode>true</activateDiscoveryEngineMode>

  4. Set considerNumTypesForSSN to true, if you can have SSNs in numeric fields and length of data token can be 7 or 8, then the Discovery Engine will need to prefix ZEROs before validating. Even if you set this property to true, the Discovery Engine will ignore following data types: DECIMAL,FLOAT,DOUBLE and REAL. Format example:

  5. Set the comma separated values in considerValuesAsNull. These values will be treated equivalent to NULL: if you set ***, ~~ then whenever the Discovery Engine finds *** or ~~ it will consider both as null.

    Format example:
    Single entry: #
    Multiple entries: #,*

  6. This is the minimum threshold to consider/Report Address Line 1 even if hit percentage is low and calculated confidence is ZERO.

  7. This determines whether the new or old DME is used in RDBMS detection. Set the property to “true” for DME mode and “false” to use the local discovery algorithm.
    activateDiscoveryEngineMode = true

Use this property file to change the port number on which you are running your IDPs.
