Static Masking - RDBMS

To view all the existing masking tasks, go to RDBMS > Static Masking > Tasks/Templates in the navigation panel. The user interface of the Task/Templates Definitions screen is depicted below.

Select RDBMS from Select Module drop-down. This will display the list of all tasks created under RDBMS module.

  1. Tasks/Templates
    This panel displays the list of all tasks and their properties. The task properties include details such as Task ID (system generated), name of the task and task type i.e., Type or Template. The controls provided in the Action column can be used for editing the details, executing, or deleting a task.

    To maximize the Task Instance panel, click Window icon on the top right corner of the panel.

    *Note: The task cannot be deleted once it is associated to any connection.

    There are few common controls through which you can sort the values in the column header, hide and unhide the column headers, filter the data, etc. To know more, visit RDBMS Common Controls.

    You can also use the following controls displayed under the Actions column:

    1. Edit: To edit a task, click Pen icon in the Actions column. This option will navigate you to the Edit Tasks/Template Definition screen where you can update the information for the selected task.

       

    2. Hide: Click Hide icon in the Actions column to hide a task. This will grey out the task, If Show Hidden Items option is checked in the User Preferences else it will not be visible on the screen. To know more, visit Home Page.

       

    3. Show: Click Show icon in the Actions column to unhide a task. This feature allows you to view the hidden tasks. If you’ve checked the Show Hidden Items checkbox in the User Preferences, the hidden task will appear greyed out else it will not be visible on the screen. To know more, visit Home Page.

    4. Delete: To delete a task, click Trash icon in the Actions column. This will delete the task from the screen.

      *Note: The task cannot be deleted once it is associated to any connection.

    5. Execute: Click  forward arrow icon in the Actions column to execute a task. This will trigger the task.

  2. Task Overview
    This panel displays the details for the task selected in the Task Instance panel. It includes information about the task such as the name of the task, description of the task, connection name, type of database (Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.), etc.

    To maximize the panel, click window icon on the top right corner of the panel.

     

  3. Selected Columns for Masking
    This tab displays information about the masking details applied on the column having sensitive details. This section of the screen gives in depth detail for the CUPS and the protection option applied on the column which is associated to some table and the database.

    To maximize the Task Instance panel, click Window icon on the top right corner of the panel. To view the foreign key references, click the downward arrow available with the Database/Schema column.

     

  4. Task Instances

    This tab displays the information for each instance of the task selected in the Tasks/Template panel. This panel displays the status of the task. It also includes information such as the ID of the task (system generated), name of the task and the start & end time of the task.

    To maximize the panel, click Window icon on the top right corner of the panel.
