Sync Results with Privacy using Scheduler

This is an alternate step that populates the IDP’s repository with detection results using the Sync Results with Privacy option. Using this, metadata can be pushed into privacy IDP from selected database. This step is done in case the task is executed without selecting Sync Results with Privacy checkbox.

Before executing this step, make sure to perform the following steps:

  1. Create Detection Connection

  2. Create and execute the Detection Task

To populate the Quick Scan columns, perform the below steps.

Schedule the Sync Results with Privacy Task

The Sync Results with Privacy task is used to push the DBMS discovery results from the controller to the Privacy IDP’s repository.

To create a Metadata:

  1. Go to the Scheduler screen and select the module Sync Results with Privacy from the Select Module drop-down. The below screen appears:

  2. Check the checkbox(s) in the left side of the Task Scheduler panel corresponding to the tasks that you want to schedule.

  3. In Start Date, specify the date when the scheduler will start executing the selected tasks.

  4. In End Date, specify the date when the scheduler will stop executing the selected tasks. Select No end date option if you want the scheduler to keep executing the tasks.

  5. Select the Schedule Type from the drop-down. Following are the available options:

    1. Daily:  Select this option if you want to schedule the task on daily basis. Below are the fields that appears after selecting this option:

      1. Recurs every: Set the frequency (in days).

      2. Occurs once at: Use this option to perform the task once in a day. Specify at what time you want to perform the task.

      3. Occurs every: Use this option to perform the task after every few hours by specifying the hours, Start Date, and End Date.

    2. Hourly: Select this option to schedule the task in every few hours. Below is the accompanying field that appears after selecting this option:

      1. Interval Time: Specify the number of hours after which you want the task to occur.

    3. Monthly: Select this option to schedule the task on the selected days of the month. Below are the fields that appears after selecting this option:

      1. Select the Day of one or more Months to perform the task.

      2. Select a specific Weekday of one or more Months to perform the task.

      3. Occurs once at: Use this option to perform the task once in a day. Specify at what time you want to perform the task.

      4. Occurs every: Use this option to perform the task in every few hours by specifying the hours, Start Date and End Date.

    4. Once: Select this option to schedule the task only once.

    5. Weekly: Select this option to schedule the task on the selected days of the week. Below are the accompanying fields that appears after selecting this option:

      1. Check the Days of the week to schedule the task.

      2. Occurs once at: Use this option to perform the task once in a day. Specify at what time you want to perform the task.

      3. Occurs every: Use this option to perform the task in every few hours by specifying the hours, Start Date and End Date.

  6. Check the Build Partial Index Map checkbox to filter the objects in the database, based on the strong identifier value. This feature displays only those set of objects which contains information about the data subject in the Data Subject Search screen.

  7. Click the Schedule button to complete the action.

  8. Click the Reset button to re-schedule tasks, if required.

Once task is scheduled it will appear in the Scheduled Task panel along with Sync Results with Privacy and Partial Index Map panel.

Scheduled Task

This panel displays the list of scheduled tasks and the details associated with the tasks. It displays basic details such as, Task Id, Task Name along with other information i.e., Module, Schedule, Day(s), Interval, Execution, Start Date, End Date, and Frequency.

You can edit the edit the details of scheduled task by clicking Pen icon in the Actions column. Similarly, to delete a scheduled task, click the Trash icon in the Actions column.

Sync Results with Privacy

This panel displays the overall status of the objects pushed to the Privacy IDP, in percentage. The status is displayed under the Percentage column.

Partial index Map

This panel displays the overall status of the objects scanned for a Strong Identifier value, in percentage. The panel is enabled when the Build Partial Index Map checkbox is checked. The status of total objects scanned is displayed in the Percentage column. The Build Partial Index Map is initiated when Sync Results with Privacy process gets completed successfully.
