Target Systems

The Target System screen displays only those connections on which ‘Sync results with privacy’ task is executed. The system gets created when we sync results with privacy on that connection.

For e.g., if we have created a connection, use that connection in a detection task and execute that task with ‘Sync results with privacy’ option. Only then the target system will get created on the DSAR.

The System details need to be edited/added on Target System screen once a Connection is created in RDBMS satisfying all the above scenarios related to sync results with privacy.

*Note: The Target System details will be updated when we create Sync Results with Privacy on that connection. The Sync Results with Privacy option can be chosen either from RDBMS Task screen or Scheduler screen.

  1. For RDBMS, access Sync Results with Privacy option by clicking RDBMS > Task > New Task. For more information, visit Create Task - Detection.

  2. For Scheduler, access Sync Results with Privacy option by clicking Scheduler module. For more information, visit Sync Results with Privacy.

Once the system is in use, you cannot delete that system from the list.  To access a Target System, click Identities > Config > Target Systems and click Pen icon under Actions column next to the system you want to access/edit.

The Edit Target System screen is divided into two panels. The first panel is System which consist of System details and the second panel is Connection Detail which consist of details of connection created in RDBMS Connection screen.

Following fields are displayed on the screen:

  1. System Name: A System is a host on which there can be single or multiple database servers. A system name in Target System will be same as the Connection name entered in the RDBMS connection panel. This field cannot be edited once created.

  2. System Type: Edit the category of the system.

  3. Classification: Edit the classification of the system.

  4. System Owner: Edit the owner of the system.

  5. Controller: Edit the ‘controller name’ of the system.

  6. Processing Purpose: Edit the Processing Purpose for which system is created. E.g., HR data, Employee data, etc.

  7. Country: Select the country name from the drop-down. This field specifies the name of the country in which system is located.

  8. Retention Period: Enter the numeric value. This field defines the period when retention needs to be done on the system.

  9. Retention Period Type: Choose the type of retention period you wish to apply among the available options i.e., days, months, or years.

  10. The Connection Detail panel will display the information of the connection which is created in RDBMS Connection screen.

    1. The first section of this panel will include information about the connection such as Location, Connection Type, Connection Name, Database Name, Authentication Method, etc.

    2. Data Group: The second section of this panel will display the list of all available data groups. You can change the Data Group from the given list. By default, the results get mapped with Default Group created on GROUPS screen.

    3. Schemas/Databases: The third section of this panel will display the list of all databases selected while creating a connection in RDBMS Connection screen.

  11. Click Save to save the details of target system, else click Cancel.

Once the details of the system will get added, the same will start reflecting on the Target System screen.

To view the details of a Target System, click the Eye icon in the Actions column. To edit the Target System details, click Pen icon in the Actions column. Similarly, you can delete a Target System by clicking Trash icon.
