Smartcrypt for Android
General Information
Smartcrypt for Android connects your Android device to your Smartcrypt account allowing you to encrypt and decrypt files on the go.
Log In on Mobile
At the log in prompt, enter the email and password associated with your Smartcrypt account. This will sync your account with Smartcrypt Manager implementing the policies associated with your account as well as deliver all of your keys securely to your device. |

If the log in attempt fails with an error "Mobile Access Disabled", this means your user account is not enabled to use the mobile product. If you reach this error and you believe you should have mobile access, contact your Smartcrypt Administrator to adjust the user policy controls. |

Log In on Mobile (Manual URL Entry)
If you are using Smartcrypt as a Guest Account, or you are unable to connect to your Smartcrypt Manager automatically, you might need to specify your Smartcrypt Manager URL. Tap the "I know my server URL" button on the bottom of the log in options. |

On the pop up that displays, enter the URL for the Smartcrypt Manager. If you log in on a web browser to https://pkwareops.mycompany.com/mds/superuser,the value you want to enter here is: https://pkwareops.mycompany.com/mds After providing the Smartcrypt Manager URL, the login page should show "Connected to ..." with the URL information you entered. Now try adding your user credential and signing in. |

Decryption
Decrypt an Attachment from an Email
In the Android mail application of your choice, locate the email that contains the encrypted attachment. Select the attached zip archive. The photographs pictured to your left showcase this process using the Gmail application. |

Select Open With Smartcrypt. This will open the Smartcrypt application. |

The archive will now appear within Smartcrypt. Select the archive you wish to decrypt. Once you select the archive, the type of encryption on the archive will determine how the application responds. |

Decrypt a File from a Cloud Provider
In order to decrypt an archive from a cloud provider, go to the cloud provider application of your choosing on your Android device. Select the file you wish to decrypt to reveal a drop down menu with options as to where you may open the file. |

Within the drop down menu, select Smartcrypt. This will open the archive within the Smartcrypt application |

Now that the archive appears within Smartcrypt, select the archive. Once you select the archive, the online application responds based on how the archive is encrypted. |

Encryption
Encrypting from Photos
In the Android Gallery application, navigate to the photo(s) you wish to encrypt. Select the desired photo(s) and press the Link icon in the top right hand corner of your screen. This will prompt a pop-up menu with various options. |

Select the Smartcrypt Encrypt icon in the lower left of the screen. This will prompt another menu with encryption options for the archive. |

Within the Encrypt menu, give your archive a name and select which type(s) of encryption you would like to use. In the mobile application, you may encrypt with a password, Smartkey and/or sign with a certificate. When you are finished, click the check mark in the top right hand corner of the screen. |

Now you will be prompted to save your archive. Choose one of the applications to save and store your archive. This will be where you access your archive moving forward. |

Encrypting from Cloud Providers
Go to your chosen cloud provider and select the file you wish to encrypt. The example to the left shows a photo saved in Dropbox. Select the drop down icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will prompt a menu with various options. |

Within the new menu, choose Export. This will prompt a pop-up menu with locations where you can export this file. |

Select the Smartcrypt Encrypt icon. This will prompt another menu with encryption options for the archive. |

Notifications
When you open Smartcrypt, you will be brought to the Notifications menu. If you have no notifications the menu will be blank. However, if you do have any notifications, they will appear in the menu like shown to the left. Respond to the notification be selecting Deny or Allow. |

Settings
When you open Smartcrypt, you begin in Notifications. To go to Settings, select the expand icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. This will prompt a pull down menu. Select Settings. Your screen will now look like the final photo shown above. |

Log Off on Mobile
When you're ready to log off the Smartcrypt mobile app, navigate to the Settings Menu in the app. Within this menu, select Log out. |

A window will appear asking if you are sure you want to log out. If you are sure, select Yes, and you will be logged off the app. |
