Email attachment now appears in the favorites list

The archive will now appear in your PK Protect Favorites list. Tap the archive you wish to decrypt. Once you select the archive, the type of encryption on the archive will determine how the application responds.

Possible results include:

  • The archive opens. You have access to the archive through either a Smartkey or certificate recipient list.
  • You are prompted for a password. If you have a password, enter it. If you do not, this most likely means the archive was encrypted with a Smartkey to which you do not have access.
  • A prompt appears signaling that an access request will be sent to the owner of the archive. In this case, you received the archive from someone other than the owner. You are not listed in the Smartkey or the original recipient list. The response of the owner determines whether or not you will have access to the archive.
  • A prompt appears which states that the certificate or signature on the archive is not trusted. You can choose to trust the certificate and open the file. Tap Cancel to leave the archive closed.
