KB - Manually updating TDE agent on SEM

The TDE agent provided by the SEM is automatically upgraded when the Manager is updated. It is also possible to manually update the version of TDE stored in the SEM.

Windows SEM

The TDE installer is stored inside your application directory under mds\App_Data\TDEInstallerParts

Download the installer from the link provided to you by your PKWARE representative
Copy the TDE Installer file provided by PKWARE to the server hosting SEM
Rename the file to SmartcryptTDE.exe
Copy the file to the \App_Data\TDEInstallerParts folder inside your MDS application
If you have multiple SEMs, these steps will need to be performed on each of them

Appliance SEM

Download the installer from the link provided to you by your PKWARE representative
Rename the file to SmartcryptTDE.exe
Transfer the installer to your appliance:

scp SmartcryptTDE.exe pkware@192.168.10.21:/home/pkware

Move .EXE to the location for Smartcrypt Enterprise Manager to bundle it

sudo mv SmartcryptTDE.exe /var/www/mds/App_Data/TDEInstallerParts/SmartcryptTDE.exe

Restart the appliance
Repeat these steps on each appliance in the cluster
