KB - Manually updating TDE agent on PEM Administrator

The TDE agent provided by the PEM Administrator is automatically upgraded when the PEM Administrator is updated. It is also possible to manually update the version of TDE stored in the PEM Administrator.

Windows PEM Administrator

The TDE installer is stored inside your application directory under mds\App_Data\TDEInstallerParts

Download the installer from the link provided to you by your PKWARE representative
Copy the TDE Installer file provided by PKWARE to the server hosting PEM Administrator
Rename the file to SmartcryptTDE.exe
Copy the file to the \App_Data\TDEInstallerParts folder inside your MDS application
If you have multiple PEM Administrators, these steps will need to be performed on each of them

Appliance PEM Administrator

Download the installer from the link provided to you by your PKWARE representative
Rename the file to SmartcryptTDE.exe
Transfer the installer to your appliance:

scp SmartcryptTDE.exe pkware@192.168.10.21:/home/pkware

Move .EXE to the location for PEM Administrator to bundle it

sudo mv SmartcryptTDE.exe /var/www/mds/App_Data/TDEInstallerParts/SmartcryptTDE.exe

Restart the appliance
Repeat these steps on each appliance in the cluster
